Meatless Meatballs Recipe

While these "meatballs" don't actually have meat in them, they're still full of flavour and has a texture you'll love.


  • 1 Cup pecans, finely ground
  • 2 cups mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs, fine
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Allspice Essence
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered sage
  • 2 tablespoons Green Seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup margarine

For the Sauce:


  1. Sauté onions and mushrooms in margarine until tender and golden brown.
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, wheatgerm, cheese eggs, salt and spices in a bowl. Add onions and mushrooms and mix thoroughly
  3. When cooled, form into balls by putting a rounded teaspoon of mixture into the palm of your hands. Roll into a ball and place balls on a cookie sheet.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  5. Fry balls in oil until brown, turning gently not to break them
  6. Simmer balls in tomato sauce with green seasoning and hot sauce.

Serve over sweet potato pasta for an enjoyable meal.
